After finishing my stint on ONCE UPON A TIME I decided to take the concept of "life-long learning" to heart and enrolled in the Think Tank Training Centre's Mentorship Program to gain experience with more "industry standard" software such as Maya, V-Ray, Substance Painter, Nuke, Premiere, etc. While no stranger to 3D I was definitely a rookie when it came to these tools.
The initial inspiration for my environment demo reel came from photographs of Highgate Cemetery in London, though a great deal of artistic license was taken. I chose to do it in the form of a Teaser Trailer for an imaginary production. Modelling was done in Maya, texturing in Substance Painter, and rendering in VRay. Compositing was done in Nuke and final editing in Premiere Pro... all software that I had not worked with previously. I attempted to maintain a workflow that would allow for various artists and departments to be working on the project simultaneously, though in this case, all of those departments and artists were me.
