VR was one of the major themes of CAPRICA both on and off screen. The show gave me the opportunity to work more closely with Gary Hutzel and his very talented VFX team from Battlestar. While Battlestar had some overlap and integration between physical and digital scenery, CAPRICA blurred the line between real and virtual. Often things that were supposedly in the real world were mostly digital scenery. Just as often, things that were supposedly in the virtual world were in fact physical scenery. This is the show that helped define my next goal: to move towards greater integration of the Art Department and Visual Effects.
